Job Summary:
To lead the end-to-end procurement and supply chain operations for automotive safety systems, with a primary focus on seat belt products. The role is responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier development, cost optimization, procurement planning, and leading high-performing purchasing teams while ensuring quality, timely delivery, and compliance with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end purchasing activities for automotive safety system components, especially Seat Belt Systems.
Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets.
Source, evaluate, negotiate, and develop domestic and international suppliers.
Drive supplier localization, cost reduction, and value engineering initiatives.
Manage RFQs, commercial negotiations, purchase contracts, and long-term supplier agreements.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Planning, Logistics, and Finance teams.
Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and implement continuous improvement programs.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and automotive industry standards.
Lead procurement budgeting, forecasting, and risk management activities.
Develop and mentor the purchasing team while driving operational excellence.
Required Skills:
Strong expertise in Automotive Safety Systems, particularly Seat Belt Systems.
12–20+ years of purchasing experience in the automotive manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier development, and contract management.
Hands-on experience in cost reduction, localization, and vendor negotiations.
Excellent understanding of automotive supply chain processes.
Experience working with OEMs and Tier-1 automotive suppliers.
Knowledge of SAP/ERP systems and advanced MS Office.
Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
Excellent leadership, team management, and stakeholder management abilities.
Outstanding communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Candidate:
Experience in Seat Belt Manufacturing or Automotive Safety Components is mandatory.
Candidates from Automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers will be preferred.
