Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Plant Head / Manufacturing Head to lead end-to-end plant operations for a farm/agricultural equipment manufacturing facility. The role will be responsible for achieving production, quality, cost, delivery and safety targets while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Lead the complete manufacturing and plant operations with ownership of Production, Quality, Maintenance, PPC, Stores & Dispatch, ensuring achievement of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Productivity targets.

·       Provide strategic and operational leadership for the entire manufacturing plant.

·       Own monthly and annual production planning, capacity utilisation and delivery targets.

·       Lead manufacturing activities covering fabrication, machining, welding, sheet metal, painting, assembly and testing.

·       Drive improvement in OEE, productivity, throughput, yield and machine utilisation.

·       Establish robust systems for PPC, production scheduling, line balancing and bottleneck management.

·       Ensure optimum utilisation of manpower, machines, materials and infrastructure.

·       Drive Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives.

·       Lead plant-level cost reduction, productivity improvement and waste elimination programmes.

·       Work closely with R&D/Engineering/NPD for new product introduction, process development and manufacturing feasibility.

·       Ensure effective quality control, process compliance, CAPA and customer complaint resolution.

·       Drive preventive/predictive maintenance and ensure maximum machine availability.

·       Plan and execute CAPEX, plant expansion and capacity enhancement projects.

·       Ensure compliance with EHS, statutory, ISO and other applicable standards.

·       Manage plant manpower, including workforce productivity, discipline, training and capability development.

·       Coordinate with Purchase, SCM, Quality, Sales and Engineering to ensure smooth end-to-end operations.

·       Develop dashboards and review key Plant KPIs/MIS with senior management.

·       Build a high-performance culture focused on quality, delivery, cost and operational excellence.

Candidate Profile

• 15+ years of manufacturing experience with 5+ years in Plant/Manufacturing leadership.
• Strong experience in agricultural machinery, farm equipment, industrial machinery, construction equipment, tractor implements or heavy engineering.
• Must have hands-on exposure to shop-floor operations.
• Strong understanding of Electrical + fabrication + machining + welding + assembly processes.
• Experience managing multi-functional plant operations.
• Proven track record in productivity improvement, cost reduction and capacity enhancement.
• Strong exposure to Lean/TPM/OEE/Kaizen/5S.
• Experience with ERP/SAP, MIS and manufacturing KPIs preferred.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and problem-solving capability.
