Honing Setter MNC for Manesar Location

Job Description

*Key Responsibilities*

1.Perform machine setup and changeover of honing machines as per production schedule.

2.Set honing tools, mandrels, stones, guides, fixtures, and work-holding devices.

3.Adjust machine parameters to achieve required bore size, cylindricity, roundness, and surface finish.

4.Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and control plans.

5.Conduct first-piece inspection before production approval.

6.Monitor machine performance and ensure consistent product quality.

7.Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments.

8.Troubleshoot dimensional and machine-related issues during production.

9.Optimize honing cycle time while maintaining quality standards.

10.Replace and dress honing stones as required.

11.Ensure proper coolant concentration and machine lubrication.

12.Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room, and Production teams.

13.Support new product trials and process validation.

14.Maintain setup sheets, production records, and machine parameter documentation.

15.Follow 5S, TPM, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and safety practices.

16.Train machine operators on machine operation and quality requirements.

*Required Technical Skills*

1.Hands-on experience in honing machine setup and operation.

2.Knowledge of hydraulic cylinder and precision bore machining.

3.Understanding of honing stones, mandrels, fixtures, and tooling.

4.Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.

5.Knowledge of bore sizing, cylindricity, roundness, taper, and surface finish requirements.

6.Understanding of feeds, spindle speed, stroke length, and honing pressure.

7.Knowledge of coolant systems and preventive machine maintenance.
