Engineer / Sr. Engineer – Production MNC for Chennai Location

Job Description

*Should have good experience in Machining Production Automobile industry.*

*Job Responsibilities:*

∙Lead and manage daily shift operations to ensure safe, efficient, and quality production

∙Conduct effective shift handover, review logbook and communicate carryover actions

∙Review production output, scrap, and downtime through DRM and initiate corrective actions

∙Ensure 5S, Layered Process audit (LPA) and TPM compliance across all work cells

∙Supervise operators to ensure adherence to standard work, SOPs, control plan, safety practices and support operators to achieve hourly production

∙Conduct layered audits and product inspections to identify quality defects

∙Ensure proper segregation, identification, and handling of scrap and rework

∙Allocate manpower to meet daily production targets

∙Attending production meetings with necessary documents

∙Communicate key OHSE, Quality audit, customer visit and maintenance-related announcements to operator

∙Provide on-the-job training and support skill development of operators

∙Monitor and escalate abnormal tool consumption, consumable consumption and equipment issues

∙Maintain accurate documentation and logging of stoppages, issues, and actions

∙Participate in continuous improvement like scrap reduction, CT reduction, Consumable cost reduction, manpower cost reduction) etc.,

∙Rejection /rework analysis through A3, Why-Why analysis, other problem-solving techniques.

∙Handling part programming and proving of Turning Lathe, VMC and HMC Part Programming

∙Handling machines like Fanuc robo drill, Makino,LMW,ACE,SW,Chiron,Enshu machines

∙Handling Quality system requirement, attending customer audit (Regular process audit, PPAP, APQP etc.,)

∙Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling pricing and customer-related data.

∙In time Escalation process is to be followed to management level.

*Your Experience and Qualification*

∙BE/B. Tech. (Mech/Automobile/Production)

∙Minimum 6 years’ experience Machining Production Automobile industry.

∙Prefer the knowledge and experience of Handling and setting Measurement and Adj in the VMC, HMC Chiron, Enshu, Fanuc Robo drill, SW machines….

∙Knowledge of IATF 16949.…

∙Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

∙Excellent organization time-management abilities.

∙Ability to drive the team to achieve the goal.

*MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS*

∙Strong computer skills, including MS office – Tools like, Excel knowledge, PPT, SAP.

∙Prefer the knowledge and experience of Handling and setting Measurement and Adj in the VMC, HMC Chiron, Enshu, Fanuc Robo drill, SW machines

∙Strong knowledge in Manpower handling.

∙Problem-solving and analytical skills: to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
