*Job Description:-*
• Lead overall Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities across Incoming Quality (IQC), In-Process Quality (IPQC), Final Quality (FQC), Outgoing Quality (OQC) and Customer Quality to ensure Zero Defect manufacturing of automotive wire harnesses.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, Maruti Suzuki Customer Specific Requirements (CSR), applicable statutory requirements and internal quality management systems.
• Drive continuous reduction in Customer PPM, Internal PPM, Line Rejections, Rework, Scrap, Warranty Claims and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) through structured quality improvement initiatives.
• Lead customer complaint handling using 8D Methodology, Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, Fishbone), CAPA implementation and ensure timely closure with customers.
• Implement, maintain and improve Automotive Quality Core Tools including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC and MSA.
• Ensure quality readiness for New Product Development (NPD), Engineering Change Management (ECN/ECR), Trial Runs and Mass Production.
• Monitor manufacturing process capability (Cp/Cpk), critical process parameters and process controls for wire cutting, crimping, sub-assembly, harness assembly, taping, testing and final inspection processes.
• Establish and maintain process quality controls to achieve Zero Defect manufacturing through Poka-Yoke, Visual Management and Error Proofing techniques.
• Conduct Layered Process Audits (LPA), Process Audits, Product Audits, System Audits and Internal Audits to ensure compliance with automotive quality standards.
• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, PPC, SCM, Purchase and Tool Room departments to resolve quality concerns and improve manufacturing capability.
• Lead customer audits, quality reviews, plant assessments and improvement activities with Maruti Suzuki and other OEM customers.
• Manage Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) activities including supplier audits, supplier development, incoming quality improvement, supplier performance monitoring and corrective action follow-up.
• Ensure effective Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In-Process Quality Control (IPQC), Final Inspection (FQC) and Outgoing Quality Assurance (OQA) through standard inspection plans.
• Review daily quality KPIs and prepare MIS reports covering Customer PPM, Internal PPM, Rejection, Scrap, Rework, First Pass Yield (FPY), COPQ and Quality Trends for management review.
• Ensure calibration and maintenance of measuring instruments, gauges, testing equipment and compliance with MSA requirements.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement projects to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Standards, Inspection Standards and Work Instructions for manufacturing processes.
• Lead cross-functional teams for problem solving, process improvement, risk assessment and implementation of preventive quality systems.
• Develop, train, mentor and evaluate the Quality team to build technical competency, ownership and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Support achievement of customer satisfaction by ensuring timely containment actions, corrective actions, preventive actions and sustained effectiveness of implemented solutions.
